12:32 am ARGH. I'm completely obsessed by the Hustler song "Turtle". It's one of those... "oh no, it's ended, oh well, REPEAT" kinda songs. A rare but great treat.
So I went to a field party, then clubbing last night. woke up late morning had a shower, had some salad, sung at the wedding, went to the choke picnic then went to my gran's for dinner. Been a weirdo varied day.
And I decided in the car just now that I was gonna make a list of all my classical CDs/LPs. I know I have over 100 and I doubt if I could tell you what was on any of them. BAD CHIPPER. However this task will probably end up me just half-arsed writing down what pop CDs I have so I can do more swapsies and get even more fucking albums that I never listen to. God, I'm so fucking lame and music grabbing.

03:32 am Bleh. I just went out to Ramshackle. I feel dirty. It was KINDA alright - lots of nice peeps [Kat, Clare, Ben, Glen, Neil, Jimmy, Ben, Andy, Chloe, Terry etc] that I didn't know were gonna be there but meh. Why do I do it to myself?
Although, I actually think it's better than Bierkeller [!]. At least you have choice of 3 rooms in ramshackle. If you get bored in the keller, you just have to go and sit on the toilet and ponder life. which is never a good thing. Besides, now it's non-term time, it wasn't... meh. no.. it was just as full as twipwerts.
Ah dear. I wish they did an old skool metal night. where they played anything from I dunno: between 1975 and 1998.
Obituary Testament Judas Priest Maiden Burn my eyes era machine head Slayer Metallica Sabbath Megadeth Prong At The Gates Manowar Helmet Exodus Nuclear Assault Sepultra Pantera Kreator
None of this crap Killswitch Engage/Atreyu/Linkin Park/Avenged Sevenfold/Lit trype metal stuff. Straight up balls out, mullet down METAL!

09:06 pm - Tuesday gig gig Nadine's right. I suck at livejournal. Bugger....
Did the Gravenhurst/SJ Esau/Mole Harness gig last night after work/dinner and my piano lesson [last one with Maria :(] Mole Harness was yummy tastic. Not mind blowing, not way out, just lovely.
SJ Esau was really on form last night. I think I ruined Lazy eye and Idioty [particularly as Nick Gravenhurst screamed "Iron Maiden" at my t-shirt when I walked on stage - argh - he always screams at Sam's gigs e.g. see also: the album launch when he declared how he'd been to the loo and missed the song] but fucky 2 was fun fun. I love the jammy bit at the end.
Gravenhurst rocked like a bitch. Or rather - the song bits were beautifully wonderful, the stonking bits were fucking ace, but I gotta admit - I wasn't 100% sold as to how much it all gelled together. Hopefully it'll develop and Gravenhurst will then proceed to take over the world.
Also "Dan Splodge Lodge The First" has finally arrived in Bristolonium. Which is fun fun. [and I get my Harvey Milk!!] I'm looking forward to witnessing many drunken shanigans in the not-so-distant future. Current Mood: irritated Current Music: Slayer - Angel of Death

11:04 am - My weekend. Saturday - went to see Breather Resist. Hmph. They were ok... nothing special. And there were loads of sceney kids, and the majority of the audience left after Mea Culpa had played. [?!?!] Anyway, I had a very amusing "respect brother" moment with Fran. hehe And the dancing to hardcore post-gig was good. But shitbear bit my bum. Eeek.
I then met up with James in the Croft for a beer, and bumped into team brick [as well as miles, guy, nick gravenhurst, jen, sean + laura, Rose, Tone etc etc.] And bricky's lopped off all his hair *mourn*. It's quite shocking.
Sunday I lolled around James' house and then went out to see the Kronos Quartet at the Colston Hall in the evening, which was cool. Hoorah for big long weekends. Current Mood: cheerful Current Music: Sneaker Pimps - Becoming X

06:38 pm Wow. Cult of Luna's Salvation is pretty cool. It kinda sounds like Isis' Celestial played backwards in places, but I'm really liking it. I WISH Isis still sounded like this :(
Anyway - Cult of Luna - I adore the HH 7", I really like the s/t but The Beyond really missed me, so either they're back on form or I've actually bothered to listen to Salvation [I got The Beyond at a time of great albumage and when I hadn't been very impressed with them live.] So hoorah.
I bought myself a ticket for Aereogramme/*Twin Zero today. woop woop. should be a good gig hopefully. Hooorah. I really ought to have bought my Breather Resist ticket too. d'oh. AND my ticket to see The Heads/Gonga etc on the Thekla on the 19th, but hopefully I'll just buy one on the door pre-10.30pm cos it's cheaper that way. Current Mood: sleepy Current Music: Cult of Luna - Salvation

06:53 pm - first rambles... I should be at the John Peel tribute night tonight :(. Damn the fact that Seymours is so out-of-town and choir was only cancelled at the last minute! hmph. Ah well, weekly biggo meal to look forward to instead, I guess.
The North Sea Navigator gig at the Metropol with Angel Tech and Leave Land For Water went really well last night. Hoooorah. Unfortunately most of the audience had come for LLFW, so left before we even got on the stage. Ah well. C'est la vie. I kind of expected that anyway. But 2nd hoorah - Metropol's quite a nice venue. Bit poley, perhaps even a bit sleazy in a weird way but pretty decent. woop woop.
Ack. I've succumbed to buying 5 albums this week. Grrrr. And I've been so good recently. Rites of Spring - s/t Naked Raygun - All Rise Napalm Death - Scum Cult of Luna Salvation Milligram - This Is Class War
I swear albums will be the death of me. Current Mood: hungry Current Music: Themselves - Poison Pit
